Water Safety Instructor

You can become an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor. This course teaches candidates the skills necessary to teach Learn to Swim and other programs. Participants also receive the Fundamentals of Instructor Training course.
Prerequisites: Participants must be at least 16 and show aquatics skills equivalent to Level VI. Length: 30 hours Cost: $150
Water Safety Instructor training has ended for the season. Please check back here for future training dates to begin during Spring Break.
Red Cross Course Policies: All Red Cross course payments are non refundable. Please make certain you can attend the class in which you enroll as transfers are discouraged. If you must transfer to a different day, you may do so only one time by e-mailing kkeener@arctac.org, after that you must re-enroll and pay the full fee again. After taking your class, you will receive a Red Cross certification card. This card proves you passed the class and are certified in the skills. If you misplace this card, replacements are $5 and can take up to 15 days to process.
