When a family faces an emergency at home, getting that news delivered immediately to a family member in the armed forces is crucial.
Services to Armed Forces (SAF) volunteers communicate urgent messages between members of the United States military service and their families whenever there is an emergency such as a birth, death, serious illness or pending surgery. Trained SAF volunteers work 24-hours a day, seven days a week, assisting families by sending messages and relieving their anxieties during a time of need.
Last year, Tulsa Area Chapter volunteers handled 730 cases for military families and veterans involving emergency communications and assistance.
